What are All-on-4/All-on-6 implants?

This type of dental implant solution enables your dentist to place a set of temporary teeth immediately after your implant surgery. This is a real game-changer for patients, who don’t have to wait months for their new set of teeth as they would if they were having individual teeth replaced with single implants.

All-on-4/All-on-6 implants are inserted into the jawbone at angles which maximise the density of the jawbone. This means implants are not needed for individual teeth. Instead, a small number of implants can replace a whole arch of teeth, making it a great solution for patients with multiple gaps in their smile, or who have lost all of their teeth.

Why do patients like All-on-4/All-on-6

This type of implant treatment makes it possible to immediately place temporary false teeth after implant surgery. In the past, patients would not be offered a temporary set of teeth to wear over their implants, making tooth replacement with implants much less appealing.

This implant system is also compatible with patients who have very little jawbone remaining (jawbone structure can start to recede when teeth are missing). As the implants are placed to maximise the jawbone’s capabilities, less jawbone matter is needed to adhere to the implants. The All-on-4/All-on-6 implant system significantly reduces the need for a bone graft for this reason, speeding up treatment for patients with lower jawbone densities by several months.

What is the All-on-4/All-on-6 implant treatment like?

A 3D CBCT scan is needed before treatment to establish the amount of jawbone available. We will also need to examine the condition of any remaining teeth you have. Your dentist will let you know if failing teeth need to be extracted before having implants placed (this will be carried out on the same day). Your implant surgery is performed under local anaesthetic, and the dentures or bridge placed over the implants will be a highly compatible aesthetic match for your mouth shape and facial anatomy.
